NMAT

Nunthorpe Multi Academy Trust (NMAT) emerged in 2016 from Nunthorpe Single Academy Trust. For a number of years, Nunthorpe Academy’s Governors and the Senior Leaders had shared an ambition to develop a MAT, working with like-minded colleagues to improve the educational offer for young people in the Tees Valley.

Nunthorpe Academy

Nunthorpe Academy is a large and over subscribed 11-19 Academy. The main academy has a PAN of 291 (reducing to 260 from September 2020 onwards) and currently has 1450+ on roll. The Sixth Form has 180 students on roll.

North East Schools Teaching Alliance

Nunthorpe Academy is the lead Teaching School of the North East Schools Teaching Alliance. The alliance is made up of Nunthorpe Academy, Rye Hills Academy, Nunthorpe Primary Academy, Normanby Primary Academy, Ormesby Primary Academy, Skelton Primary School, Chandlers Ridge Academy, Zetland Primary School, Riverdale Primary School, and Overfields Primary School. We work in partnership with Northumbria University. Over the last four years we have successfully trained primary and secondary teachers, as well as delivering many successful training events. We currently lead an ‘Inspiring Women’ project following on from our very successful ‘Women Leading in Education’ work.
